Due to continued growth, our West Coast Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Mid-Level Civil/Structural Engineer in our Fort Worth, TX office. 

Responsibilities

  • Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and possess the ability to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines
  • Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors
  • Prepare design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates
  • Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight
  • Devise new approaches to technical problems
  • Travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up
  • Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects and maintain quality standards of all assigned projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear Industry
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Familiar with the International Building code and building code design
  • Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches
  • Uranium enrichment facility experience, or equivalent nuclear facility experience, is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements, particularly 10CFR70 is preferred
  • Ensures plant designs contain adequate safety features based on best nuclear industrial facility practices and lessons learned
  • The ability to lead and mentor an engineering team is highly desirable and preferred
  • Ability to periodically travel to New Mexico is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" security clearance. A current DOE clearance is preferred
