What responsibilities will I have in this role? (including but are not limited to)

  • Perform a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities.
  • Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components.
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates.
  • Perform review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications. 
  • Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development.
  • Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activities.
  • Proficiency in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systems.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through professional interactions and communications and the development of quality engineering solutions. 
  • Travel to plant sites to interface with client personnel and to perform walk-downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work.

 

What qualifications/skills will help you be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and minimum 1-2 years of I&C engineering experience.
  • Design modification experiences preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the preparation of electrical calculations.
  • Experience supporting modifications of Nuclear Power Plants preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms.
  • Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants.
    • Types of upgrades include replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cybersecurity systems.
  • Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing.
  • Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution.
  • Ability to travel for client and company projects and/or meetings.
