Overview

Our License Renewal Team is looking for a Senior Civil Structural License Renewal Engineer to work in our Kennesaw, GA or Chattanooga, TN office. In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of regulatory expertise, driving impactful research and building strong client relationships. Your efforts will be crucial in supporting licensing and aging management programs, ensuring compliance and excellence every step of the way. Remote work will also be considered for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents, with a focus in the civil/structural discipline
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs
  • Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry
  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients licensing staff with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as pro-active identification of support opportunities
  • Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project
  • Ensure successful implementation of various aging management programs such that NRC commitments associated with License Renewal are fulfilled
  • Serve as a civil/structural SME and mentor within the license renewal group internally
  • Act as the license renewal industry representative for significant technical issues within the civil/structural discipline

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university AND 10+ years of experience in the nuclear industry
  • Minimum 2 year of license renewal experience in the nuclear industry
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design and operations
  • Preparation and review of aging management program documents supporting license renewal implementation
  • Preparation of gap analyses and 10 CFR 54.37(b) reviews
  • Site coordination of implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programs
  • Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making
  • Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment
  • Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader
  • Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry
  • Possess ability to mentor engineers on civil/structural technical topics
