Overview

ENERCON serves several markets throughout the energy sector, including data centers, mission critical facilities, the federal government, industrial, nuclear power, power delivery, grid infrastructure, power generation, and renewable energy.

Due to continued growth, Enercon is seeking a Project Management Office Manager (PMO) to join the team to join us in any of our office location(s). This position may be available for a remote option for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) organization for one or more business units
  • Report to the Senior Vice President for their business unit(s) and dotted-line report to the Corporate PMO Director
  • Set project management expectations with project management staff including Project Manager Supervisors, Project Managers (PM) and Project Management Administrators (PMA) regarding procedure adherence, project performance and client satisfaction
  • Provide direction, guidance, and feedback on PM performance and project performance
  • Provide intrusive management oversight on financial and schedule health of projects, and select challenged projects for review at problem project meetings, high-visibility review meetings, or other forum as appropriate
  • Approve project documents and process-related paperwork in accordance with the procedural requirements including but not limited to:
    • Project Plans
    • Risk Management Plans
    • Client Contracts/POs
    • Subcontractor or vendor POs
    • Project Waivers
    • Financial Impact Authorizations
  • Provide training, mentoring and coaching to PMs and PMAs, and support/deliver new PM Orientation Training and other PM Continuing Training sessions
  • Work closely, collaborate and coordinate with other PMO Managers, Accounting, IT, Training and other departments and individuals across the company as it relates to project management, including development, maintenance and improving project management procedures, processes, tools and templates
  • Support divisions with Proposal and Change Order Request (COR) preparation and/or reviews as needed, including major Engineer of Choice (EOC) type proposals
  • Support divisions with resolution of project management issues and with client interface related to project management as needed
  • Support divisions with recruiting of PMs and PMAs including screening reviews and interviews as needed

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering or other relevant field from an accredited university
  • 12+ years of experience with 6+ years in Project Management
  • 4+ years of leadership/management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead people 
  • Demonstrated experience in the energy sector such as an A/E firm, EPC or Utility
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management in engineering and/or construction
  • Demonstrated experience tracking and reporting on project performance metrics and KPI's including Revenue, Margin, Cashflow and Earned Value (EV) metrics
  • Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills
  • Experience with project management or financial software or ERP system (Unanet experience desirable) and scheduling software (Primavera P6 experience desirable)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable
  • Some travel required (10-20%) to ENERCON and/or client offices or sites
