Overview

Due to continued growth, ENERCON's Nuclear Services Group is looking for Lead I&C Engineer onsite at Crane Clean Energy Center (formerly TMI 1) in Middletown, PA. In this role, you will coordinate with diverse disciplines, review designs, and manage projects with autonomy. Additionally, you will prepare specs, evaluate bids, and innovate solutions to technical challenges. Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities that will also include some basic electrical design tasks
  • Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace or upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components
  • Prepare ECPs to install new digital I&C equipment and systems
  • Mentor employees through on-the-job training opportunities to engineers assigned to you
  • Monitor, track, and assign tasks and projects to employees
  • Perform weekly remote check-ins with team members
  • Support supervision by participating in preparation of periodic performance reviews
  • Conduct regular observations and provide coaching and positive feedback where warranted
  • Communicate with supervision regularly regarding tasks and duties and support management and supervision initiatives
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates
  • Perform review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications
  • Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development
  • Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships
  • Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activities
  • Perform site walkdowns as needed for your own projects and those of employees under your care to identify design solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of I&C engineering experience in the nuclear industry
  • EIT or PE License in one or more states preferred
  • Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms, or a strong desire to learn
  • Willingness to learn how to perform electrical design tasks required to support I&C design
  • Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at this client site
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution
  • Must be able to perform plant walkdowns, crawling, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven terrain

This position may offer per diem for non local candidates.
