We are seeking talented geotechnical engineering professionals to support our Energy Group. Our positions offer flexibility with opportunities in:

Responsibilities

A typical day may include providing engineering support for our Energy Group, Nuclear, DOE and Commercial Projects. Most projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other engineers as well as our clients. Other duties of this role include developing design studies, preparing engineering calculations and analysis, attending project meetings, performing walkdowns and mentoring junior employees. 

 

  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Act as the bridge between engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and coordination across all project disciplines
  • Shape Project Success: Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, prepare or review geotechnical site investigation programs and create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence
  • Master Procurement & Installation: Draft detailed specifications for geotechnical projects, evaluate technical bids, and select top-tier solutions to meet project needs
  • Perform Precision Calculations: Execute essential electrical calculations that form the foundation of successful designs and installations
  • Think Creatively: Bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges and push projects forward
  • Be Hands-On in the Field: Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work scope
  • Lead and Inspire Teams: Foster a positive, goal-oriented environment with your motivational leadership style, empowering teams to achieve success

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university with experience in applying geotechnical engineering principles.
  • A higher degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • PE certification preferred
  • Experience in geotechnical design and analysis, preferably at power generation and/or nuclear power plants
  • Thorough understanding of geotechnical engineering fundamentals and applications
  • Geotechnical earthquake engineering, foundation design support, and geotechnical construction experiences are preferred
  • Experience in seismic and geotechnical analysis software such as PLAXIS, FLAC3D, SASSI and SHAKE preferred
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, guidelines such as ASCE, ASTM, IBC, EPRI and NUREG
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at power generation and nuclear power plants and DOE sites
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance to support staff
  • Ability and willingness to apply established technical knowledge to less familiar applications
  • Flexibility to respond and adapt to client and project needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks 

 

Salary Range Information

Mid-level engineers have a range starting at $90,000.

The range increases based on role, level and location ($90,000 - $185,000 per year).

Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
