Overview

Join our collaborative team as an EFS (ENERCON Federal Services) Accounting Manager where your leadership skills and deep FAR knowledge will ensure financial integrity and drive growth.

Responsibilities

This day-to-day role involves a blend of technical accounting responsibilities, leadership, communication, and a strong focus on ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, particularly within the context of government contracting.

 

  • Analyze Financial Data: Analyze financial data, including costs, productivity, and margins, to identify trends and potential issues that need to be addressed
  • Work with Accounting Software: Utilize accounting software to manage and track project financials
  • Review Project Financial Reports: Start the day by reviewing financial reports related to active projects, particularly focusing on those involving government contracts to ensure FAR compliance
  • Provide Financial Analysis & Recommendations: Analyze financial information and provide recommendations for cost reduction or revenue enhancement
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve Financial Issues: Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues related to project finances, ensuring accurate reporting
  • Understand Contract Terms: Read and interpret contract terms to ensure accurate billing and compliance with contractual obligations
  • Maintain Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and develop processes and procedures to strengthen financial controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 10+ years' experience in accounting with at least 5 years supporting a FAR compliant accounting system
  • CPA Preferred (not required) 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills working in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work well with others as well as independently with limited direction
  • Multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to correctly prioritize
  • High energy and superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be efficient and thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Knowledge of GAAP, FAR and general business and tax law
  • Knowledge of Payroll regulations and legal requirements preferred
  • Mid-Size company ($200 plus million) experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
  • Experience with Unanet, or other large Project Management and Accounting System Software a big plus
  • Highly prefer candidates with experience working within a project driven engineering consulting firm or similar environment

  • If a salary range is listed, it reflects the typical range for this full-time position based on the role, level, and location. Individual compensation within the range will be determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
