Overview

ENERCON’s Energy Group is seeking an Electrical Designer to join the team based in one of our various office locations across the U.S. Join our dynamic engineering team as an experienced designer/drafter and elevate your career by creating and refining detailed drawings, conducting site walkdowns, and collaborating closely with engineers. You'll utilize advanced tools, adhere to strict quality and safety standards, and mentor junior team members, all while working on diverse and exciting projects. Responsibilities

As a Designer, your day is a dynamic blend of creative problem-solving and technical precision, where you bring designs to life using AutoCAD and Plant 3D.

 

  • Creative Design & Drafting Excellence: Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D. Understand AutoCAD national standards. Display high attention to detail and perform peer checks for other designers
  • Client Collaboration & Site Engagement: Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports. Work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation and coordination
  • Quality Assurance & Leadership Impact: Conduct self-checks of created models, drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product. May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership. Communicate internally with engineers and designers and maintain high level of organization
  • Safety and Standards Adherence: Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives
  • Time Management & Efficiency: Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a minimum of 2 years of design engineering experience
    • OR Associate's Degree in related field with minimum 6 years of design engineering experience
    • OR minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software 
  • AutoCAD experience is required
  • Preferred experience with Plant 3D, Smart Plant, or Revit
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Electrical Design codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs

  • If a salary range is listed, it reflects the typical range for this full-time position based on the role, level, and location. Individual compensation within the range will be determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
