This position can be located in our Kennesaw, GA, Baton Rouge, LA, Chattanooga, TN, FT Worth, TX,  Overland Park, KS, or other office locations.   Responsibilities include (but not limited to) - Engineering analysis, HVAC design development and generation of HVAC design output documents including but not limited to: calculations for equipment sizing, duct sizing, pressure drops, cooling tower sizing, heating and cooling loads, and air balancing. - Will be responsible to create/modify piping and instrumentation diagrams; system descriptions; mechanical equipment lists; integrate with fire protection design; and vendor document reviews. - Must be familiar with ASHRAE, AHRI, NFPA, SMACNA National Codes, and Standards. Knowledge of nuclear HVAC design is preferred. - Creating and revising HVAC design documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; Sizing Calculations, and Vendor Document Reviews. - Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions. - Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams. Required Qualifications / skills - B.S. in Engineering from an accredited university or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. - Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in design or experience in the field of HVAC related work. This is a Part-Time, remote position.   Responsibilities (including but are not limited to) - Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents. - Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs. - Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry. - Develop relationships with current and potential clients licensing staff with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as pro-active identification of support opportunities. - Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project. - Ensure successful implementation of various aging management programs such that NRC commitments associated with License Renewal are fulfilled  Required Qualifications / Skills - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university AND 7+ years of experience in the nuclear industry. - Minimum 2 year of license renewal experience in the nuclear industry. - Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes. - Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operations. - Preparation of aging management program documents supporting license renewal implementation. - Preparation of gap analyses and 10 CFR 54.37(b) reviews. - Site coordination of implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programs. - Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops. - Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making. - Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product. - Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment. - Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader. - Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry. Including, but not limited to, type, size, height, angle, owner, etc. - Identify all overhead communication components and attachments on the structure. Including, but not limited to, type, size, and attachment height. - Prepare status reports, project forecasts, and other deliverables in support of on-going engineering efforts for distribution pole replacement projects. - Drive to various locations throughout California to perform the data collection survey. - Perform data collections utilizing various devices, such as, laptop, iPad, GPS, range finder, cell phone etc. - Work areas will include both urban and rural environments, located along public streets, in back yards, utility easements, and within wooded areas, etc. Qualifications             - High School Diploma or equivalent. - 2 years of experience in field work strongly preferred, but not required to be considered. - Ability to perform a Field role with full time travel to various cities within California, 80% travel will be involved.  - Physical requirements include walking outdoors with exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions caused by the weather. - Ability to work within a team environment. Review and check products prepared by other engineers or subcontractors. - Design, prepare, and/or review engineering deliverables for Power Generation and Industrial clients such as design studies, project scopes, engineering estimates, calculations, specifications, bid evaluations, and technical reviews . - Mentor and coach junior-level employees, and support group growth plans. - Ability to lead Mechanical Engineering project teams locally and out of other offices in support of a variety of mechanical projects. - Responsible for project development and execution for a variety of engineering projects at power generation and heavy industrial facilities. - Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated projects with minimal guidance and technical oversight. - Apply technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts and make recommendations based on knowledge and experience. - Ability to learn discipline-specific tools and software. - Work with a multidisciplinary team. - Interface with other staff engineers as well as engineers working for our clients. - Travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up. - Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications/ skills - B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree and 10+ or more years of experience in the design of process systems for industrial & utility power systems. - Must have a Professional Engineer (PE) License and the ability to acquire licenses in multiple states. - Experience with new greenfield, facility expansions, and/or major facility upgrades. - Advanced knowledge of applicable industry and regulatory codes and standards pertaining to the power industry. - Proficiency in one or more of the following areas such as Stress Analysis, Hydraulic Analysis, Thermodynamics, Piping Design and Specifying Mechanical Equipment (pumps, piping and valves) - Ability to use Autodesk Computer Aided Design (CAD) - Proficient in typical office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook. - Good writing, presentation, and communication skills. - Ability to be an individual contributor and effectively lead diverse teams of engineers and design/drafters. - Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. This is an onsite position, not remote.    Responsibilities (including but are not limited to): - Working with technical staff, develop winning, highly technical, engineering proposals - Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to established schedule and within budget. - Understand, develop, and maintain project schedules, project management plans, and manage project staff to ensure project requirements are met. - Understand complex scheduling tools including earned value management and reporting processes. - Formulate/develop detailed project reports. - Understand project financials and be able to report regularly to management on financial status and overall project performance - Foster and maintain working relations with assigned clients, act as a single point of contact for assigned projects. - Manage client interactions and negotiate / control project scope to client and company's satisfaction. - Aggressively support marketing efforts, including identification of new opportunities, proposal preparation, and follow-up. Required Qualifications / skills: - Nuclear Design Engineering experience with the modification and implementation process, calculations, specifications, etc. - Minimum of 7 years' experience in the nuclear industry as an Engineer or Project Manager. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field -OR- PMP Certification and 10 years' applicable experience. - Experienced in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review. - Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes. - Strong coordination and team-building skills. - Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills. - Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams. - Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites. - Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks. Position may occasionally require a client site assignment lasting several months at a time. Preferred - Preferred experience working for an engineering consulting firm. - Project Management experience in the Nuclear industry. - Professional Engineer license preferred.
